Best-Hall responds to the need for renewable energy by providing its buildings with the option for solar panels

With solar panels installed on the roof of a fabric-covered building, the owner of the building can cover more of its consumption with renewable energy and reduce its electricity bill. Best-Hall provides its partners with a safe comprehensive solution, which includes everything from reinforcing the building structures to dimensioning and installing the solar panels.

Climate change creates pressure for the more efficient utilisation of renewable energy, such as solar power. The sun is an unlimited source of energy, thereby providing the opportunity to reduce the usage of fossil fuels.

Finland’s solar power capacity will increase dramatically in the coming years. In its forecast, Fingrid estimates that solar power production capacity will increase ten-fold between now and 2030. The supply of various kinds of panels and their installation services has also increased with the growing demand.

“We want to help our customers navigate the maze of different service providers. We can provide safe and profitable comprehensive solutions, which involves calculating advance estimates of the power production and payback period of the panels and ensuring that they are correctly installed on the roof of the fabric structure,” says Sales Manager Leif Fagernäs of Best-Hall in summary.

A maintenance-free investment that will produce energy for decades

Solar panels offer a maintenance-free long-term solution that will produce energy and savings for decades to come. Once installed and deployed, the solar panels require minimal maintenance. They require no fuel or regular maintenance measures. Even snow does not need to be cleared off the panels, because the snow will only clean their surface as it thaws.

At times, people in Finland doubt that there is enough sunlight available. Even though winter in the north is long and dark, the amount of solar radiation is still at the level of northern Germany. The most important thing about positioning solar panels is to choose the optimal direction and angle to collect as much energy as possible.

Solar panels can also installed on the roof of an existing building

It is also possible to install solar panels on the roof of an existing Best-Hall building. In this case, it must be ensured that the steel frame of the building can withstand the added weight of the solar panels.

“We first ensured that solar panels could be successfully fitted by fitting a set of 52 panels on the roof of our own paint shop in Kälviä. They generate approximately 18,000 kWh of electricity a year.”
