The flexible and high-quality Best-Hall Custom promises a long lifecycle for the fabric structure. The steel-framed tensile fabric covered building’s service life spanning decades, portability, reparability and resale value make for a viable investment. The building’s modifiability will guarantee its usability throughout its entire lifecycle.
The Custom fabric structure will adapt to changes in business activities. The building’s calculated service life is 50 years, and various change needs will typically occur over the course of such a long lifecycle. The same building will serve you for a long time, as Custom is very flexible and modifiable. For example, it can be insulated retroactively.
“Insulation installed on the inside and heating equipment will turn a cold fabric structure into a warm or semi-warm space. Thus, a building such as a former warehouse will become suitable for production use, or a cold building will transform into a warm warehouse,” explains Maintenance Manager
Examples of typical change projects also include making changes to doorway sizes, locations or functions or compartmentalising the building into separate spaces. Compartmentalisation also makes it possible to partially insulate the building.
The fabric structure can be relocated and its size can be increased
The fabric structure can grow with your business. Other buildings can be connected to it, and thanks to its modular structure, the fabric structure can be extended lengthwise if needed.
“The main frames of the fabric structure are uniform in terms of shape and durability across the entire length of the building, so the building can be extended as much as needed,” Nyholm says.
If the fabric structure is needed in another location, it can be relocated. Once a building permit has been acquired for the new location, the fabric structure can be dismantled and rebuilt in the new place on short notice.
“Of course, matters such as regional variation in snow loads must be taken into account when moving the fabric structure. However, the building can be relocated, even across the country. The relocation also presents a good opportunity to carry out change work on the building if needed.”
Careful maintenance will keep the fabric structure in good condition
The modular steel frame of Best-Hall Custom is very flexible. Compared to concrete or wood, its manipulability is in a league of its own.
“In addition to the frame, the durable fabric cover is also more flexible than materials such as sheet metal. In use, this flexibility can be seen in that the cover only bulges from small hits and returns to its original form. The fabric lasts decades, and its service life can be extended with regular maintenance,” Nyholm explains.
The fabric structure comes with a maintenance manual to help the owner keep it in good condition. It is recommended that the owner carry out an annual inspection, i.e. check the flaps and their fastenings, detect any depressions or cracks in the asphalt and clear the ventilation grates of debris.
“Inside the building, you should inspect the surface treatment and any crash marks in the steel structures. When you fix such observations immediately, you will not be surprised by any major issues down the line and the building will stay in good condition,” Nyholm points out.
Best-Hall will serve the owner of a Custom whenever needed for the entire lifecycle of the building. Our annual maintenance service, repair services, change work, relocation service and consultation regarding reuse possibilities will help the owner take full advantage of their investment.
